The book-making process

A clear path from what you know to a focused book.

Every project follows the source material, the reader, and the one message the finished book needs to carry.

Start Your Book

Make the book useful

A focused book begins with the reader, the source, and one clear outcome.

01

I Already Have the Material

Bring recordings, videos, talks, articles, or other material. We shape the useful substance into a finished ebook without asking you to turn it into a manuscript first.

02

I Have the Idea or Knowledge

We discuss the subject, build an outline, and wait for your approval. Then we prepare chapter questions, interview you, and use your answers as the book’s substance. The same approach can begin with a focused fiction idea, too.

03

What every book includes

Writing, editing, two rounds of revision on the book text, cover design, formatting, and a finished ebook delivered as a professionally formatted PDF are part of the complete book service.

04

Online-store publishing is optional

Most 20 Minute Reads are completed in about 14 days after we receive everything needed to begin. Your core book is a finished ebook (PDF) you can use and share. Print and ebook availability in online stores can be added as a publishing upgrade.

05

You own the finished book

Publishing normally happens in your own account, so the account and listing stay yours. Publishing through our account is available by request, while the account and listing remain under our control.

A 20 Minute Read is a complete focused book—not a stripped-down traditional manuscript. Start with the knowledge you already have.
